MY PERSONAL THERAPY

JENNY'S THERAPY

VIEW OF HUMAN NATURE

Socialization affects the behavior of each individual. Socialization in the family, school and peer group promote and internalize various behaviors. The family is the most influential socialization force. Parents, Grandparents and siblings all transmit to infants and young children what they consider to be important values, behavior, skills, and attitudes. Household rules govern behavior, interpersonal behavior serve as a model for interactions with outside people and socially valued qualities such as generosity and caring are learned through example within the home in the culture. However, socialization in the family also lead to negative behavior. If the family are not interacting with each other, they will not be able to supervise the behavior of each other. And the negative behavior of parents and adults will be modeled and imitated by their children. As children grow and interact more with the environment outside the family home others begin to play important roles in the socialization process. Friends, institution such as church and school and media all become important factors in shaping a person's attitude and behavior.

DEVELOPMENT OF MALADAPTIVE BEHAVIOR
Without socialization in the family, the behavior of the individual will be negative. The children or the or the family members will seek attention and love and will behave according to what they want. they will behave to what they know is right. They will not behave well to the other people will give them love and support. On the other hand, if there is socialization in the family but the children see negative behavior to the family, and he/she knows that it is right, he/she will model and imitate that behavior. Studies of aggressive tendencies in children have pointed out that certain children are more influenced than others when exposed to aggressive behavior by authority figures in the home. Interaction to the school and peer group also develop unacceptable behaviors. In the school, the children are influenced by their peer group because the children are socializing with their peer group, they will adapt to the behavior of their peer group. They know that it is right because for their peer group it is right. They should fir in to the group to socialize. The personality of the children becomes a problem when it facilities the interaction with a destructive or deviant peer group.

GOALS OF THE THERAPY
